Use of the service

Pentimento provides personalised art generation, printing, and fulfillment. By using the service you agree not to submit prompts that infringe copyright, depict minors in suggestive contexts, attempt to recreate the work of specific living artists, or violate applicable law. We reserve the right to refuse any generation request that triggers our moderation filters.

Generated content

You retain rights to use the artwork generated from your prompts for personal display in your own home or office. Pentimento retains the right to use your generated images internally to improve the service (model selection, prompt quality benchmarks, debugging) and to use anonymised samples in marketing with explicit consent. We do not sell your prompts or your generated images.

Commercial resale of artwork generated through Pentimento (for example, listing the same piece on Etsy or selling prints of it as your own) is not permitted. AI-generated images carry copyright ambiguity in many jurisdictions; the safest position is that the work is for your personal use only.

Payment and refunds

Payment is processed by Stripe. Because every piece is generated for you and printed to order, it cannot be resold, so we do not accept returns. Our remake policy is described in detail on the Pentimento Promise page: if a piece arrives damaged, or the print or color is defective, or the wrong piece is sent, send a photo and we will remake it once at no charge, with nothing to mail back. Refunds, where offered, are handled case by case at our discretion; email us within 30 days of delivery and we will work it out with you.

Intellectual property

Pentimento and its branding are property of the company. The underlying generation models are licensed from third parties (Google, fal.ai, Higgsfield) under their respective terms. Style references on this site point to art-historical movements rather than living artists.

Disclaimers

The generation service is provided as-is. We strive for high print quality and accurate generation, but cannot guarantee specific outcomes from any individual prompt. Our free remake covers a demonstrable quality problem with the printed piece (transit damage, a print or color defect, or the wrong piece), evidenced by a photo. It does not cover a change of mind about a piece that printed as generated.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Pentimento operates (currently the United Kingdom). For EU customers, mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence apply in addition to these terms.
